EARLIER 1:07 A.M. REPORT — HISTORICAL SNAPSHOT.

CALEXICO, Imperial County — November 4, 2026. An official county report updated at 1:07 a.m. Pacific places Joong Kim first in Calexico’s election for two City Council seats. The battle for the second seat is far closer: Camilo Garcia leads Blanca Morales by only four candidate votes.

Seven candidates, two seats

The Imperial County Registrar of Voters’ unofficial results list Joong Kim with 1,232 selections (20.32%), Garcia 970 (16.00%), Morales 966 (15.93%), Carlos “Yogi” Fonseca 800, Alexis Rangel 725, Diana Nuricumbo 712 and John “Tony” Canaris 658. Percentages reflect the sum of candidate selections for two available seats, not the share of unique voters or total city turnout.

Measure O: public safety sales tax behind

Calexico Measure O, labeled a public-safety sales-tax proposal, had 1,890 no votes (51.37%) against 1,789 yes (48.63%). The 101-vote difference makes it premature to announce either adoption or rejection until additional eligible ballots are counted and the relevant approval threshold is confirmed.

What comes next

Imperial County will continue processing valid mailed, provisional and other ballots. The two council seats should not be called based on a four-vote difference. The official results dashboard provides subsequent totals and timestamps. This is an independently reported first overnight snapshot, not a final certified result.
